Hello My Loves
One of my absolute favorite things to do is take communion. I'm so excited to share this prayer with you.
I pray it ignites all the promises of God in your life.

What Is Communion?

Jesus first took communion with His disciples and said, “Do this… in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthian 11:25). When we take communion, we are remembering Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The bread and wine are physical, visible reminders of Jesus’ body that was broken and His sinless blood that was shed in our place. Communion celebrates God's love, Christ's obedience and the spiritual transaction that occurred when Jesus was crucified and resurrected.

When we partake in communion we bring ourselves before God and celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. It serves as a reminder of our abundant life here on earth that we receive as christians.  A life of authority, power, provision, protection, divine health, healing, forgiveness of sins, victory over death and our adoption into our heavenly family.  All of these promises are attached to a new covenant sealed with the blood of Jesus.

Communion Prayer

This is the communion prayer that I use. I designed it to highlight the depth of promises attached with taking communion.

This day in remembrance of Jesus I partake in communion.

This is your body, you are the bread that came down from heaven & this is the new covenant in your blood representing the life that is in the blood of Jesus Christ. I give thanks for this cup, a cup of blessing and I bless this bread with life, because you Jesus are the bread of life and this bread represents  the body of christ, bless them with resurrection power, I bless it with healing, I bless it with zoe life, I bless it with the very life that is in the blood of Jesus christ.

According to your word I remember your life, your death, your burial and your resurrection. I remember all of your many benefits. That you forgive all my iniquities, sickness & pain, you deliver my life from the pit, you crown my life with loving kindness and compassion, you satisfy my mouth with good things & you renew my youth like the eagle. I bless these elements with these benefits that you promised I will receive because of your life, your death, because of your burial and your resurrection.

As I take this into my body release healing, restore my soul, restore my strength, restore every cell in my body, restore my mind, restore my bones, renew my youth, sharpen my mind. I believe your word & I’m going to attach my faith to you living word. Knowing that this is a spiritual transaction that will renew my body. I bless my family, I cover them with your protection. I release resurrection power into the life of my children, my spouse, my parents, my siblings, my uncles, aunts & friends. Release angles to keep & protect them daily. Lord you said he that eats my flesh & drinks my blood abides in me & you in them.

So as I take this communion I’m trusting that I am abiding in you & you are abiding my me. So that when you appear I will have confidence & I will not shrink away-in your presence, for he that practices righteousness is born of God. And I am the righteousness of God by faith. Strengthen me Lord to do the work of the kingdom and transform me into the image of Christ. In Jesus name I release this blessing & I take this communion; proclaiming the lords life, death, burial, resurrection and prophesying that he will come again.

In Jesus Name Amen

  • Matthew 26:26-28 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
  • John 6:53-58 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
  • 1 Corinthians 11:23-27 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. 27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
